Kealakekua Bay, a marine sanctuary, is located 15 miles south of Kailua Kona town. Known for its premier kayaking and snorkeling, the bay is home to hawaiian spinner dolphins and is visited during the winter months by humpback whales. The area also has many links to Hawaii 's history and culture. In this aerial view you can just make out the Captain Cook monument on the far side of the bay, and our vacation rental home is on the shoreline at the left side of the picture |
